Canadian grain workers’ strike threatens agriculture exports, producers say

Grain workers at the Ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert, represented by the Grain Workers Union (GWU) Local 333, went on strike at 7am Pacific on Tuesday September 24 after unsuccessful negotiations for a new labor agreement. The strike has brought critical grain exports to a halt at Canada’s largest port of Vancouver, affecting international trade during the peak harvest season.
