French soft wheat conditions at four-year low: FranceAgriMer
French soft wheat rated "good to excellent" lost a further percentage point in the week to March 18, as the EU’s largest wheat grower emerges from a long, cold spell which has damaged the crop, data from FranceAgriMer showed Friday.
The volume of French wheat rated good or excellent now stands at 79%, a four-year low and down from 91% at the same stage last year, the state body said.
Meanwhile, durum wheat rated "good to excellent" gained a percentage point on the week as the hard wheat edges up to be back in line with the quality this time last year.
The "poor to very poor" rating for both soft and hard wheat remained unchanged on the week.
