New petition seeks to remove EU subsidies for livestock in favour of plant protein

The European Commission has approved a European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) seeking to replacing agricultural subsidies for the livestock industry with tax breaks and subsidies for companies producing plant-based and cellular alternatives.
