SAGO takes 725k mt of feed barley at $211.43/mt CIF in tender
Saudi Arabia's state grain purchasing company picked up 725,000 mt of feed barley in a Friday tender, paying $211.43/mt CIF on average for October-November delivery, according to an official announcement Monday.
The Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) purchased 12 cargoes for delivery over October 1-November 15, with half of the amount secured by Glencore.
The Rotterdam-headquartered company sold six cargoes or 360,000 mt for arrival into Red Sea ports.
Bunge, Agrorodeo and Louis Dreyfus also sold one panamax cargo each.
Cofco secured the three remaining vessels, with total volume of 180,000 mt, for delivery into Gulf Ports over the same October 1-November 10 period.
The tender invited sellers to offer cargoes from Australia, the Black Sea, the EU, South America and the US. Canada is still excluded as an origin due to a long-running diplomatic dispute between Riyadh and Ottawa.
At its previous tender that closed on June 15, SAGO purchased 1.08 million mt of feed barley for August 15-September 15 delivery, paying an average $198.81/mt CIF.
