US planting progress advances ahead of five-year averages: USDA

US corn, soybean, spring wheat and barley planting advanced above last year's pace and their respective five-year averages in the week to Sunday April 28 due to improved topsoil and subsoil moisture conditions, the USDA’s weekly crop progress report showed on Monday April 29.
